Getting Ready for GenCon
almost 6 years ago – Sun, Jul 29, 2018 at 05:17:22 PM

Good morning Dobberton!

Looks like we had several new people join our community last night. Welcome and thank you for supporting this game!

Feel free to chat and greet each other in the comments section. As we grow we will create a welcoming and comfortable environment.

Later today I'm leaving Southern Illinois for Indianapolis and the king of all table top game conventions, GenCon. If you're going to GenCon, make sure you find me! I'll be running four different Dobbers events and helping at some booths for a few friends. This year, Splattered Ink Games doesn't have a booth, but we will next year.

If you're interested in playing in one of the Dobbers events, go to the GenCon event finder and search for Dobbers. Here's a link: https://www.gencon.com/event_finder?search=dobbers

 Social goals update

Twitter: 1404 current followers - we're gaining steadily here. I think 1600 will easily fall before the end of the campaign.

Facebook: 288 current page likes - this one is also climbing nicely. Only 212 more for the goal.

Instagram: 350 current follows - this one keeps fluctuating. A few add then a few go away. I'm only asking for 50 here and we have 180 backers. I think we can do it.

Total Shares: I'll work on an exact number in the meantime, but we're at about 100 total. Good job! We're getting there.

We're getting close to the next stretch goal!

We may even hit it today. I continue to be blown away by all the love and support. I'll keep working to make this the best game I can! Thank you - sincerely, Darryl

First Stretch Goal - Forge Equipment
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Jul 26, 2018 at 07:27:34 PM

Congratulations Dobberton!

You can now forge your Equipment. I think you guys will really like this new powerful card combination.

Next up is the linen card upgrade.

This upgrade will be a great benefit to the game. It will add increased durability of the cards. Also since you are stacking the Challenges the linen finish will keep the cards from sliding around.

Solo Mode Cards

At $12k we are also unlocking the solo mode cards. This will add 24 new cards to the deck. Eight of them are for set up, you deal them randomly and it determines your Hero's starting path and places a few location cards on the board to start building Challenges. The Other 16 cards are shuffled into the top half of the Adventure deck. When they come out they simulate actions that others players might take, such as adding Creatures or Equipment to challenges on the board. Some cards also remove cards from the Adventure row, (as if they were being acquired by another player). Your goal is to get to the key in a certain number of turns. Instead of racing the other players, you're racing a virtual clock.

Thank you all! Let's keep the train going. There's a lot more adventure ahead!

Sincerely - Darryl

The Fate of the Alwaysgreen Forest needs Forge Equipment
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Jul 26, 2018 at 06:18:22 AM

There are some very strong Creatures and Locations in the Alwaysgreen Forest. Standard Equipment may not be strong enough! Introducing Forge Equipment.

Hi Dobberton! It's day three and I couldn't be more pleased. We are going to be knocking down some stretch goals soon I'm sure! I'm excited to tell you that after some shuffling, I was able to move one of our stretch goals, originally planned for later, up! See below:

Since you can only have 3 pieces of equipment in play at a time, this allows you to increase the power of one of them without using one of those equipment slots!

I hope you like the addition. When testing these cards, they quickly became one of my favorites. Let me know what you think!

sincerely, - Darryl

FUNDED in under 48 Hours!! Onward to Stretch Goals!
almost 6 years ago – Wed, Jul 25, 2018 at 08:02:33 AM

The first milestone has been achieved and you should all give yourself a pat on the back! I'm thrilled and overwhelmed that we reached the goal so quickly!

The first Stretch Goal is a big one!

And I'm sure it's going to fall soon. The linen upgrade is important to me because I believe it will improve the experience of the game. I want each person who plays Dobbers to have an amazing experience. The slight texture will help with card durability and make them less likely to slide around when stacked for challenges. Those are qualities that will improve the game.

And don't forget Solo Mode! This add 24 more cards into the base game and creates more variety of play. Eight of them are for set up, you deal them randomly and it determines your Hero's starting path and places a few location cards on the board to start building Challenges. The other 16 are shuffled into the top half of the Adventure deck. When they come out they simulate actions that other players might take, such as adding Creatures or Equipment to challenges on the board. Some cards remove cards from the Adventure row (as if they were being acquired by another player). Your goal is then to get to the key in a certain number of turns. In stead of racing the other players, you're racing a virtual clock.

That's the overview.

Thanks again for the support. It's been amazing and I'm even more excited now that I was when we started. Let's make a great game and build an even better Dobber community! You're all part of Dobberton now!

sincerely - Darryl

96% - The excitement builds!
almost 6 years ago – Wed, Jul 25, 2018 at 06:00:03 AM

Good morning Dobberton!

We're almost to the 48 hour mark and we're almost funded! I never imaged I'd be talking about being funded on day two. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

I'm looking forward to discussing stretch goals with you. It's usually the most fun part of any campaign I've been a backer of and I'm excited to work through those milestones from this side of the project.

Speaking of stretch goals, did you happen to see the new Kickstarter Exclusive card I revealed yesterday?

This guy is a beast and will absolutely up the challenge level for any game. He's part of the social goals added to the page. I hope you like him!

If you have any questions, please just let me know. I'll do my best to answer as quickly as I can.

Thank you all. This is an amazing ride. - Darryl
